Tropical Storm Barry is expected to reach peak intensity before making landfall early Saturday morning (7/13/2019) in south-central Louisiana. Magellan Transport Logistics, in partnership with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), activated company command and control center to provide shuttle truck service. The deployed shuttles are utilized to deliver disaster relief suppliers to residents in affected storm ravaged areas. Magellan Transport Logistics Regional Manager Jason Harness stated, “Our company has the resources available to scale quickly in servicing the demand for capacity that is required for disaster relief. The provided shuttles will be available for extent of the storm and aftermath.”
Significant flooding is likely across Louisiana and southern Mississippi, east of the center of circulation, with localized flooding expected farther inland. Strong winds on the eastern side of the storm can down trees and power lines, causing potential extensive power outages.
