Sid’s Grocery, along with the rest of the Green Turtle Cay island, was completely devastated by Hurricane Dorian. The entire roof including the truss system was blown away during the storm, resulting in significant water damage. Magellan quickly stepped in and donated the transportation for all the materials needed to restore the building. After a week of non-stop efforts to replace the roof and complete repairs Sid’s Grocery was able to re-open one week later. Sid’s is now open for business, back to serving the community. There is still a tremendous amount of work to be done on Green Turtle Cay and the rest of the Abacos to recover from the hurricane, but Magellan’s donation made a gigantic impact to restoring commerce on the island.
