Magellan Transport Logistics announced a $40,000 food donation to a local charity, Feeding Northeast Florida. The generous donation will allow Feeding Northeast Florida to continue their mission of helping local residents who struggle to put food on the table.

“It is worth noting that 17,343 lbs. of food donated translates into 14,452 meals for struggling families in our community. Due to the low sodium content, organic, and excellent shelf life, this specific product will be used for our Nutrition Pack Program. The pack consists of 2 weeks’ worth of groceries, and over 400 packs per month go to targeted distribution to seniors, veterans, and families with special needs, “ said Eli Darkatsh, of Feeding Northeast Florida.

The donation was transported by Magellan Transport Logistics partner carrier SJW Trucking and Deliveries. Many thanks to Daryl Allen and Greg Gilmore for giving their time and assets to deliver this much needed donation, as well as Ashlee Wright from Magellan’s LTL department for coordinating the donation and transportation.
