“As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, each week I highlight a small business that exemplifies the hard work and dedication that embodies the American entrepreneurial spirit. This week, it is my pleasure to honor Magellan Transport Logistics, of Jacksonville, Florida, as the Senate Small Business of the Week. Founded in 2006, Magellan Transport Logistics is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business dedicated to providing its customers with a wide range of transportation needs.

Following Hurricane Michael, Magellan worked directly with FEMA, providing forty trucks and three staff members as part of the disaster recovery effort. I congratulate Tom and the entire team at Magellan Transport Logistics. They exemplify what it means for a small business to serve a community, and I wish them nothing but success in all their future endeavors.”

Tom Piatak, a United States Military Academy graduate and combat engineer during Operation Desert Storm, is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Magellan. Under his guidance, the company has excelled in supporting the vast transportation needs of its clients.
